Immersive Art and Future Realities: Artistic Practice in Social Virtual Environments
In the workshop "Immersive Art and Future Realities" we talk about virtual art and social web VR as a creative and communicative tool. Artist Martina Menegon and curator Eva Fischer show some of their favorite virtual artworks, immersive art installations and interventions. They talk about their experiences curating an online festival and art exhibitions that maneuver between virtual, analogue and hybrid settings.
Together we explore the virtual spaces they curated and designed for the platform for immersive experiences "Area for Virtual Art" and for the Vienna CIVA Festival. And we discuss the current and future potential of social virtual environments for art production, the creation of new worlds in cyberspace and the exchange of experiences.
